The time has come!  Lessons are about to begin!

This year, KN points on the webpage may only be completed at home.  This is because internet is not available at the Opera House and I didn’t want to give any students an unfair advantage at gaining KN points.  Also, to gain points on the webpage, we’re going to be doing some writing!  I love writing and thought this would be a good way to integrate it into my music teaching.

Write your answer in your lesson notebook or type it under Students OnlyThis week’s journal question:  What are you most looking forward to in piano lessons this year?  Grades 2-5 should write at least 3 sentences; grades 6-12 should write at least 5 sentences; younger students may have help from parents in writing sentences.

Also this week:

  • Bills due at first lesson (bill should be in your introduction letter; please contact me if you did not receive a letter).
  • K-3 workshop on Friday at the Opera House, 4-5pm.  We will cover rhythms and start learning Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro.  No pre-registration necessary – feel free to drop in!
  • Frederick students who have school on Friday may 1) start lessons next week and take this week off your bill, 2) make up your lesson Thursday Sept. 6 (starting at 5pm.), or 3) make up the lesson at the end of the month.  Just let me know what you decide!
